I find that the more reputation I game with the Sons of Hodir, the more I hate them. If they have reputation with me, they're deep into hated. I would rather pull my eyeballs out than polish that helm again. I know I'll finish it, as I've come this far, but I don't think the rewards are really worth the grind to me.
In patch 3.3, they're increasing the rep you gain from the daily quests and lowering the amount needed, so if I set them aside with Skul for a bit, I may just get bumped to exalted when the patch hits, and I can get my shoulder enchant, my bag pattern, and the mammoth, and then never see them again (unless I get new shoulders).
I dusted off my shaman, Portobello, and played him for a bit. He's up to level 72, and I bought epic and cold weather flying for him. Questing is a breeze in Northrend, being able to just swoop in, get what you need, and zip out again.
I also tried driving my wife's shadow priest for a bit, and I came to the conclusion that I know nothing really of how a priest works. I tried to set up a rotation, but I'm totally ignorant of what spells they have beyond the obvious. I don't want to disturb her talents and button layouts too much, so I decided to roll my own and learn the stuff by experiencing it for myself.
I've already planned on rolling a goblin warlock when Cataclysm hits, but that's pretty far off. I find the grind for gear at 80 to be a bit boring, and my shaman has always been a spare time toon. He'll hit 80 soon, but sometimes, I just like dropping back and seeing how fast I can blast through the lower content. It will be a very different world after Deathwing tears the ass out of Azeroth, so I guess one last run through the vanilla content couldn't hurt.
I'll introduce the new character in the next post.
