Podcast Roundup

I work with my eyes and my hands all day, so my mind is free to wander while I do my thing.  Too much music tens to put me to sleep, so I've been listening to podcasts lately to keep my brain alert.  Here's a few in my listening pool -

WoW related -
Inside Azeroth - great hosts, good chemistry, informative and not afraid to give opinions.
The Instance - lots of good info
Casually Hardcore - Entertaining, informative, great sound, maybe a bit too long
Hearthcast - good sound, very polished, great tips, show is really improving
World of Warcast - great hosts, good info, getting to be a bit of time between shows.
Molsan Method - great small daily shows, no filler.
Metatalk - Alachia is a great podcaster - show explores not just WoW, but online interaction.
WoW.com - quality dropped when Mike Schramm left - getting better over time.
WoW Things Considered - show ended, which is too bad. Hosts revealed they didn't even play the game anymore, which was a let down.

A few others I listen to, but only once in a while -
Council of Six - entertaining, but a bit too rambling sometimes.
Pugcast - funny, but sometimes excessive rambling leads to shows that are way too long.

Others -
STOked - I checked out Star Trek Online - a bit overproduced for my tastes, and they haven't convinced me this game is here for the long haul.
Sitrep - Andrew used to do a Tabula Rasa podcast. Exellent broadcaster, not-so-hot game. Hope he does another show soon.
My Untitled Folder - good tech/geek broadcast
Countdown - a daily does of politics
Cornerstone Simi - Francis Chan is a great preacher

These are just my opinions. Search on iTunes, and you'll find these and many more. Any recommendations for listening?

  1. Thanks for the mention! :)

Here are some others I would recommend:

Call to Auction - great tips for auction-related addons and making gold with professions

Ctrl Alt WoW - Great group of folks that talk about what's going on in their WoW-lives... I always learn something new by listening to their perspective.

Ladies of Leet - Entertaining show about gaming in general from the female perspective.

Twisted Nether - Fantastic show with guests and commentary on WoW and the community

  3. Tooting my own horn :) I'll second the recommendation for Twisted Nether Blogcast (I'm one of the hosts). We do run exceedingly long.. but I don't think we ramble :) We interview bloggers and podcasters from the WoW community as well as talking about Community news and News from Blizzard.
