So why is it that the same company that expects an employee to give 2 weeks notice and an "exit interview" will "separate" the same employee on the spot with no notice at all? I mean, yeah, it would have been nice to have a heads up, so you don't splurge on groceries or other purchases the weekend before. It would have been cool to have been able to tie up loose ends with my customers and not leave them hanging, knowing there;s nobody to cover for me once I was gone. It's all very one-sided and comes back to that whole "I don't have to look you in the eyes and feel that little dying ember in my soul called a conscious vibrate, so I'll fire you now and feel no shame" thing I posted about yesterday. And they use buzzwords like "separate" instead of "fired" so they can fool themselves into thinking it's not that bad.
And to the few people there making excuses for them, think of it like this: If you're on a hot air balloon that's sinking because the operator did a piss-poor job navigating it, and they decide they need to toss off some ballast, and the ballast is you, you're going to have some hard feelings on the way down. Compassion for the person who shoved you over the side is not one of the things that occurs to you while you're plummeting toward the harsh, unyielding oblivion rushing up toward you.
How's that Mercedes riding, Cecil? Got a nice spot for your new bible in there?
