Before I started really working with Flash, I dug into a program called Manga Studio. I spent a week learning the tools inside & out, and was surprised how well it mimicked the pen & ink hand drawing tools I'm used to. I was an inker for Malibu Comics for a number of years, and know my way around a crow quill pen, so it was fun to really press my Wacom tablet on the computer and do the same thing. I grabbed some pencil samples off of the web, and digitally "inked" them on layers in Manga Studio. They're 600 dpi, full 11 x 17 inch size. The last time I did traditional inking for DC Comics back in December, I was surprised that we no longer Fed-ex'ed pages - it was all done with digital scans uploaded to an FTP site. MS makes it easier, as there's no scnning involved!
Here's the pieces I've done so far - 2 Jim Lee covers, and a page from a book called "Iron and the Maiden".
