Patch Day!

Patch 3.3.5 is here, and it's bringing us the Battlenet Real ID system.

With the new system, we'll be able to add our close friends and see them regardless of what game they're playing, character they're on, server, etc.  It's not for everyone - you don't want folks you don't know that well to have access to your real name, email address and bothering you while you play on an alt.  Personally, I'll just be adding a few close friends and family.  I'll watch how it works and see from there how much I want to open it up.

The Vote to Kick feature in dungeons is improved now.  Those who do it all the time will gain a longer cooldown on their trigger finger, while players who seldom do it will be able to nominate bothersome asshats almost immediately.

The new raid dungeon Ruby Sanctum is also implemented, but not available for play yet.

Unfortunately, patch day happens right after the Midsummer Fire Festival kicked off, and this has put a damper in my raiding the Ice Lord for frost emblems.  From what I've seen, the new way we get the holiday boss is almost universally loved, as it's fast, easy, and repeatable.  Getting those two extra emblems in your bag each day should ensure that you won't have trouble finding a group for the entire duration of the event.
