Skulfrak - Icecrown Raider!
I'm not quite sure why, but when I got home last night I decided I wanted to go into ICC. I've not been there before, and I just took my first steps into raiding. My gear is pretty good, and I know my rotation inside and out, but I didn't know the fights. Nothing like on-the-job training!
I didn't know if there would be any groups forming, but I thought I'd give it a try, so I turned the trade channel back on. In just a few minutes, a call went out for DPS and heals for ICC25. I whispered I was in, and got my invite. No gearscore requirement, no achievement links, just acceptance. Sweet.
I flew over (on my shiny new Dragonhawk mount) and was put to work summoning other folks. It didn't take long, and we were full, buffed, and starting! Nobody was judgmental on anyone else's gear - we just went to work. Very refreshing for a PuG.
Lord Marrowgar went down on the first attempt. A DPS spell trinket dropped, but I lost the roll. No worries.
Moving on, we took a stab at Lady Deathwhisper. She wiped us at first, but after more of us knew what we were doing, the second attempt was as smooth as cat shit on a linoleum floor. She dropped a spell damage staff - Nibelung - and I rolled a 96 - MINE! The only other warlock in the raid shouted, "Nooooo!" and sunk to his knees, sobbing like a child.
We moved ahead to the gunship battle and fired it up. It was great fun, but I didn't know what I was doing, and neither did a few others, and we wiped. It was getting late, and I was beat, so I called it a night there.
I killed my first few bosses in Icecrown Citadel 25 though, so I'm making some progress!
I also had a picnic in Dalaran, just 'cause.
